Thanks for your feedback rash2236 !!
1) You're right! You can not change the default button's assignation with this version...this should follow quickly in the next update.
2) What image are you talking about? Can't you see the game snapshot?
The program is built to adapt itself to any screen resolution (except the menu, search & quit windows that are fixed)
If you can, please show me a picture of your problem..so that I can help you to fix it out!
Regards,

my snapshot have res 200x200. Image appears stretched to 447x447 and this is max resolution of snapshot ??
In "NEW mGalaxy_Runway" fit to add support JOYPAD not only IPAC and keyboard. Then we would not need to use additional software like Xpadder or JoyToKey

from what it seams the pics are stretched big or small to fit the front end. So since its the most simplistic and easy front end for mame its accounting for the pics not being that big anyways. but who knows i just got the program yesterday.
what is your first language?
but yeah xpadder or the logitech profiler is the only way so far unless there will be an update soon 8)
Yes indeed, with mGalaxy v2.0 the snapshot is stretched to fit the "blue display".
I'm not sure to understand you perfectly: what would you like? Would you like to have the snapshots displayed at their original size? (that option was present on the previous 1.2 version...I discontinued it, thinking that people would prefer to always see their snapshot optimized)
Please tell me if I understand you clearly...and if so, give me arguments to check if I should put back this option on v2.0 ;-)
I take your request in consideration for the next mGalaxy Runway development!!
in mgalaxy 1.2 i use ROMLister http://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/ to create my own XML file "mg_mamedb.xml" there is an option "hide tags in ROM descriptions (SET1), (US), (hack), etc." Now how can I edit the name of the game ?? File xmlout.xml not having data to be edited.

I think there are some programs to do that to the xml file, for me i got over it. every front end would love to have that feature but most of the ones ive seen doesnt.
Take this list:
19XX: The War Against Destiny (USA 951207)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (Asia 951207)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (Brazil 951218)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (USA 951207 Phoenix Edition) (bootleg)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (Hispanic 951218)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (Japan 951225)
19XX: The War Against Destiny (Japan 951207)
I you removed tags mGalaxy would display:
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
19XX: The War Against Destiny
!!
I see an use for it ONLY if you've chosen not to show clone roms!?
Is this what you're thinking to?
it is I do not like clones. Only interest to me, the original ROMS. In the previous version I could edit the list of game. because I was able to remove from list orignal VENDETTA 4 Player and replace it with a more playable version VENDETTA 2 Player. For this list should be possible to edit so that everyone could afford it to fit your needs.
I wanted to throw in this idea since Im sure you listen to the community and want good feedback. Although removing the text of rom versions is good might i suggest something different and possibly easier. Something I'd go crazy for.
Imagine this game: Samurai Showdown V Special / Samurai Spirits Zero Special (ngm-2720)
removing versions or parenthesis and brackets like ( ) or [ ] would give you this: Samurai Showdown V Special / Samurai Spirits Zero Special
What if using mgalaxy on mame would make a list of rom titles in text format
so it would create rom.txt this list would be created differently for whatever version of mame automatically. then you can go in and edit the text manually.
then i could go in and simply make the game say: Samurai Showdown V Special
or if i want the japanese title: Samurai Spirits Zero Special
Alternatively games like super street fighter 2 i could customize the bootleg version and make it say: super street fighter 2 (5 hacked characters)
so i would know whats different in each bootleg
the text file would read:
# Pound Symbol is to comment. Game titles are in quotations " "
#Rom List
nbajamte.zip "NBA Jam TE (Rev 4.0 03/23/94)"
rom2example "Rom2Example (world)"
rom3example "Rom3Example (world)"
rom4example "Rom4Example (world)"
So reviewing,
1. mgalaxy simply creates the text file from who ever's mame version is being used, so there wont be outdated text files.
2. to change the game title just edit whats in quotations
3. upon changing mame versions with out letting mgalaxy know then mgalaxy "updates the list" adding in alphabetical order the updated changes.
4. If ever the list gets out of hand just delete the text file and mgalaxy will create a new one.
rewards of this system
+fast title editing
+able to add notes to the game title to bootleg/hacked roms
+able to add english or japanese name titles where the game displays both
+no glitches or errors being an alternative to a program that removes whats in parenthesis or brackets ( ) or [ ]
just to add 2 more everyday uses for this. A) You might have a game like street fighter ex2 that runs fine but for your system it lags. you can edit the title and add "street fighter ex2 - lag" "street fighter ex2 - not 100%" or "street fighter ex2 - stuttering"
B) if in addition to this program and you still want it to automate taking of parenthesis brackets or whatever. having x-men (4 players) or the 6 player version clone you can re add it manually while still taking off the majority of clone versions if that's your wish.
thanks for reading hope this sounds sane to you. lol.

The problem that I can see in this proposal (but I must confess that I'm in a hurry..so I've read and reply quickly):
You tell:
#Rom List
nbajamte.zip "NBA Jam TE (Rev 4.0 03/23/94)"
rom2example "Rom2Example (world)"
rom3example "Rom3Example (world)"
rom4example "Rom4Example (world)"
What I see:
1) The problem is that the Rom name may often change from one version to another!! So if you associate a game rom to a 'modified' description when the rom game name will change it won't be linked to anything anymore..or worst, to another rom!
2) The favorite list is based on the 'Official' description of the game (which, as far as I know, do NOT change over time). That allows to update your roms set without losing your favorite list! Indeed, this list is based on the description (which doesn't change over time) and link to the rom name, even if it has changed over time!
So, once again, on a new mame version it would be difficult to associate your 'modified' description to the new rom name.
Hope that I'm clear and that we are talking of the same think ;-)
