DB not working

Hello Community

I have tested many FE and mGalaxy has won my preference .....I am recylcing an old Dell Latitude D610 with as much as 60 GB of HD space ;-) running Mame 0.175 on a Windows XP SP3.
Mame 0.175 command line / GUI runs all my roms ( 91 mame roms ).
After close to a week reading the threads and trying everything outlined in the tutorials, I am still unable to get the DB to work. I synchs perfectly ( Takes 4-5 minutes), no error messages whatsoever....
If I chose to ignore the DB, the games appear with the MAME names ( shortened)
If I chose to go with the DB, no names show up.

Only fix so far is to go change each rom name manually, then download covers and snapshots myself.....but this is a frustrating exercise given the fact that most of mGalaxy users have managed to get it to work

Any help or insight will be more than welcome
