Ok, I am a windows person, never touched a mac in my life. but yesterday I was given a big ass MacOS 12.7.6 Monterey which looks practically brand new. ive been playing with it for the last 24 hours and am now getting a feel for it. So I wanted to put Mame 0.160 on it cause thats what i use in windows and it has always open every one of my roms I throw at it, thats why i want to try and stay at the 0.160 in the mac version.
I installed the mac version of Mame 0.160 was able to get it to load, But just to the screen where it tells me it cant find the roms and tells me to check my Mame.ini file for the correct rom path which for me has always been the roms folder in the root of Mame with the exe file. But it doesnt see them and there wasn't even a mame.ini that came with the installation. So I took the mame.ini out of my windows put it in the root and in a ini folder as well, no such luck. I still get this damn screen and nothing to click but Exit (screen image attached)
Anybody have any ideas ??
I did try running with the SDL but then it doesnt load but if I just click on mame application file i get the screen which is a start I guess...lol
Sorry this wouldnt accept the pic it says over quota...
But the eact wording is "No Games Found. Please check the Rompath specified in the mame.ini file" and I have an exit button I can click on, thats it
