Currently working on my cabinet.....Xmen/Avengers themed with heros painted on one side and villians on the other, bezel will say "X-MAME", maybe some blue or purple fluorescent lighting, etc...
Will post when done, but as you can tell with custom painting, it may take awhile... :o
Oh the custom artwork sounds great. I was tempted to go for some old skool Atari stripes up the side of the machine but decided against any theme on the machine apart from the word MAME going across the marquee at the top.
Here's a pic of my Asteroids-to-MAME conversion cabinet I did. This was my first cabinet, and I really learned a lot out of it! It's running MAMEWah, but once mGalaxy has a few revisions, I'll probably make the switch.
And here's my newly-built Pac Man cocktail. I built it from scratch out of scrap pre-finished cherry plywood from work (I work for a kitchen cabinet manufacturer.) It was so much fun to build.
I'm waiting for my I-Pac to arrive, but other than control wiring, it's done!

Here's one I just recently finished. Its an old video poker machine that I converted to use MAME (with the mGalaxy frontend, of course). The cabinet is not exactly "spectacular", but I enjoy playing the Casnio style games on it.
Edit - Oops, just noticed this picture doesn't show the frontend, just the BootSkin. Sorry about that.

My machine is a 4player with 4 joy sticks, 7 buttons per player. pin ball buttons two guns and a track ball. I used the PC's power to run all the led lights for the cab. Cab was originally a Mortal Kombat II cab. Now has every nintendo, super nintendo, N64, atari, sega genesis, neo geo, mame, and a couple specialty items. Enjoy, Andy
