Hi all,

I'm in the process of setting up mame using Mgalaxy as a frontend.
Video plays fine, but if I play a game, then exit, the video freezes (static picture at the point of launch).
The format of the video is .mp4 640x480 encoded with WinFF standard mp4 profile.
The video plays fine in Windows Media Player and also MPCHC.
I did have FFDShow and Haali intsalled, I have removed these to eliminate any problems, but it still freezes.
It's similar to the problem the Solid One had in this post http://www.mgalaxy.com/forum/index.php?topic=572.0

The plan is to have a video playing (with no sound) and my music to continue playing in the background.
I can achieve this if I turn the fade music option to false in user.config.
I have to do it this way, otherwise the video will play and the background music fades.
BTW the video freezes regardless if I turn the fade option on or off in user.config.
This also happens if the video has sound or not.

Cheers
Rich

On further testing the video will play again, if I move to another title and back again.
It would be nice if the video resumed at the point of launch or at least played from the beginning again.

Cheers

RicGalaxy, (what a nice name  ;))
This is not a bug but the normal behavior of mGalaxy.
In my mind, video preview is there to give you a...preview of a game!...so when I programmed it, I didn't see a direct interest to preview a video of a game that you just left!

Hi mG,

If that's the way you programmed it, not the end of the world.
The music resumes from the point of launch, so I thought the video would as well.
Ah well, maybe I'll add that to my wishlist. :)
As my old grandmother used to say - Wish in one hand and piss in the other, see which one gets filled up first.  ;D

Thanks for your help mG

Cheers
Rich

PS - Hmmmm, I wonder what inspired the name RicGalaxy  ::)
