Just FYI...
I was having a problem getting NES emulators (namely Nestopia and FCEUX) to work and found that pop-up warnings were appearing behind the mGalaxy screen.
When launching NES games, mGalaxy would appear to hang. I thought it was an emulator or config problem, and spent some time trying to figure it out. I found out by accident Windows had a "unverified publisher" pop-up behind mGalaxy, asking if I really want to run this software.
As a suggestion, you may want to allow these warnings to come into focus.
To anyone reading this, you can resolve this issue by launching a ROM. When it starts hanging, exit out of mGalaxy. The pop-up window will then be accessible where you can check off "Always ask before opening this file" and hit Run.
Emulators hanging
From what I understand this is an alert window coming from Windows.
As stated in the settings window (http://www.mgalaxy.com/tutorial_mGalaxy.html) it is recommended to test your emulator standalone before using it with mGalaxy.
