I'm starting to use this front end, It is what I was expecting long time ago, but I have some issues with FBA, I like it cause it's simplier to use,, well, this is my setup:

Code: Select all

  <System>
    <Name>CPS</Name>
    <AppPath>D:\media\games\emulators\fba_029729\fba.exe</AppPath>
    <RomPath>D:\media\roms\arcade\cps</RomPath>
    <SnapPath>D:\media\pictures\games\cps</SnapPath>
    <VidPath />
    <Emu selected="0">
      <Cmd id="0" name="FBA CPS" value="%file" />
    </Emu>
    <Extensions>.zip</Extensions>
    <Active>True</Active>
    <Script>False</Script>
    <Database>False</Database>
  </System>
But when I run a rom, fba says "game not found", what am I missing?
I can make it run on Win7 SP1 64 but not in win XP SP3 32
Any help will appreciated.

All seem ok, I don't have this emul (Why are you using this one ?).
But I think It s like mame, you need to edit/config a file with the rom folder path, take a look in fba64.ini in config folder.

And If it s like mame your roms need to have the correct name, you can't rename your roms.

Try with <Cmd id="0" name="FBA CPS" value="%file%ext" />

Code: Select all

I can make it run on Win7 SP1 64 but not in win XP SP3 32
If this code work on Seven, it will workkon XP too, Look yours folders name, try to load a game by fba itself to configure path.

Ok, it works now, just need to copy some folders with icons.

I think it's an issue: when running app and there is no icon, program crashes, it's expects an icon or folder to read, even if it gets apppath, rompath, etc.

About, fba has some issues running lastest version on xp, I needed to use an older version. I was using v0.2.97.29, but v0.2.97.26 worked well.

Whenever you create a new system in the "systems.xml" file, mgalaxy is waiting for an icon (used in both mGalaxy & Runway) and a folder to save this system preferences.
This is not an issue...this is the mGalaxy "Data" folder and, like any other application data folder, you have to manage it precisely ;-)

OK, my mistake, sorry. I had to learn to the bad way, no problem, even with that, Im so glad of my new front end: mGalaxy, runs great on XP and Seven, smooth and fast.

With mGalaxy, you can say: "Keep it simple and easy to use!"

In another theme, where can I get some icons? I'd like Virtual Boy, Game Boy Color, Neo-Geo, CPS, CPS2, CPS3 and Final Burn Alpha. My wife made me all of them they don't fit well as icons, that's the reason I'm asking some of them. They're a great addition along with Retroarch.

Anyway, thanks a lot for this great piece of software!!!

You can make your owns icons, it s png file 200*150 with a transparent color.

But you can make like me if you have problem with your graphic application (I had same problem than you even with the good size), I don't find the topic about that but you can put a link with the image you want, and ask for a person better than us make the transformation.
