Maybe a popup information picture at every emulator, while press -i- (in mGalaxy UI), can be useful.
A selfmade picture (or an info.txt file), that display your personal input configuration ...
All my controls are very difficult (C64, MAME, SEGA, ...)
The -i- button is the same for encoder ipac32 (and mame basic config)
at switch 5 for player 1, so there can be the perfect one.
And sure, -i- on keyboard for i-nformation.
Information / Control Info Picture
Ha yes, not bad idea. I have same problem too.
Just for amiga on the same joypad I have
1 joypad (4 direction + 2 buttons)
1 mouse ( 4 direction + 2 bouttons) amiga is a computer
Special command to swaps disks, quick save, somes special keys usualy use by games (space, f1 , enter, ect ...)
I think we can make pictures ourselves (with an empty one) by emulators, but we need the functionality.

Or even just a text file (but an image file would also be okay for people who want to do a good-looking thing).
Even if I always try to map the same buttons, it could be useful for other peoples, as my brother will also use that PC.
Something like :
Up, Down, Left, Right : D-Pad
...
Save state : Button "?"
Load state : Button "?"
Coin (1P) : Button "?"
Reset : Button "?"
Etc...
That, a random function and controller support and the front-end will be perfect for me

Suggestion received...and implemented! ;-)
Pressing 'i' (standard mapping) on keyboard will check if a "note.rtf" file exists (for each emulated system).
If yes, it will be displayed in a window and you will navigate using the joystick (line up & down, page up & down).
The '.rtf' file extension is chosen since it allows the quick and easy creation of documents containing both images ans text!!

Cool
Now a random feature, and personally, that would be perfect
(Then, we better stop asking for features for a while if we dont want the next version to be delayed forever Is it still planned for the start of September by the way?)

Yeah I like this idea!!
..But I would prefer being able to use an image instead, it's faster! Or if even better, maybe while transitioning to the EMU program, the program (mgalaxy) fades to the image of the controller and button layout, and then fades to the EMU program. Something to think about and would keep you from seeing a black screen before playing the game..

No it's not that long for me either, but it would be cool to know what I set the controls for since they are some what different for each system. So to see one of those type of images for a refresh would be nice..
What "RTF" file?!? Any idiots guide to this?
Yes and no. I took images from the net and and messed with them till they gave me what I wanted. If the owner of the program needs help with this part, let me know and I can help!

RTF file is a text file that you can create, for example, with Word or Wordpad.
And you are able to put images in it.
You can find some examples here : http://www.mgalaxy.com/forum/index.php?topic=474.0

Thank you, that helped a lot! Now where do these "RTF" files go?
The rtf need to be called "note.rtf" and you can put 1 file by system eg in "mGalaxy/data/nitendo 64"
Wordpad is better to make the file because word put lot of useless craps in the file (microsoft powa)
To display the file press the key assign at "call the "note" window" in the configurator.
