If you want to keep your precious MAME favorite list you\u2019ll have to open the mGalaxy data folder (there\u2019s a shortcut to it in the main mGalaxy folder) and copy the \u2018favorites.ini\u2019 file from the \u2018Mame\u2019 folder to the \u2018Multi-system [MAME]\u2019 folder after installation. THIS APPLIES TO MANY OTHER SYSTEMS.<\/p><p>BACK-UP THIS DATA FOLDER PRIOR TO INSTALL MGALAXY.<br \/>FROM THIS FOLDER, COPY\/PASTE \u2018favorites.ini\u2019 FILE FROM EACH SYSTEMS TO THE FRESHLY INSTALLED mGALAXY DATA FOLDER.<\/p><ul><li>Game database panel (requires an internet connection): pressing the dedicated key (default key is \u2018w\u2019) will show\/hide a side panel with game info such as: box picture, description, co-op info, players info, release date and game genre. This panel can be left open while browsing your game list.<br \/>(The data is provided by \u2018thegamesdb.net\u2019. A \u2018Clear\u2019 button has been added to clear filtering applied by your keyword search.<\/li><li>Icon added: an icon is displayed to warn you when the current list is filtered on \u2018Show Available Roms Only\u2019 (switch made in the menu window).<\/li><li>Icon added: an icon is displayed to warn you when the current list is filtered on a keyword (introduced in the \u00ab Search \u00bb window).<\/li><li>mGalaxy_Runway: \u2018List items text alignment\u2019 option added.<\/li><li>Install option: you now can choose where your \u2018mGalaxy Data\u2019 folder should be installed.<br \/>By default &#8211; and to conform to Microsoft security policy &#8211; it\u2019ll be installed in the ApplicationData folder:<br \/>C:\\Users\\{username}\\AppData\\Roaming\\mGalaxy (on Win 7)<br \/>C:\\Documents and Settings\\{username}\\Application Data (on Win XP)<br \/>This ensure the best application compatibility.<\/li><li>You can choose to install it inside the mGalaxy folder itself. This will make mGalaxy &#8220;Portable&#8221;.<br \/>In that case &#8211; and to avoid write permission problems &#8211; choose an install folder you can write to (so avoid c:\\Program Files or whatever Microsoft renamed it to)<br \/>Note:<br \/>&#8211; mGalaxy will check in both places if it can find a data folder but will use the one in the install dir as a priority.<br \/>&#8211; This folder isn\u2019t erased during un-installation or update to preserve your saved data (favorites, system settings,\u2026). So, if you had first chosen to install it inside the mGalaxy application folder and make up your mind later, remember to delete it manually or it\u2019ll continue to be used by mGalaxy.<\/li><li>A shortcut to the mGalaxy settings folder (see previous note) is created inside the mGalaxy folder during installation.<\/li><li>mGalaxy_Runway: it\u2019s now possible to enter text (thus, making copy\/paste) in the App Path\/Rom Path\/Snap Path\/Video Path text boxes.<\/li><li>\u2018Auto repeat\u2019 function on gamepad button presses.<\/li><li>Items view extended to 5 in the \u2018Select System\u2019 window.<\/li><\/ul><h4>5.0 \u2013 Released September, 2013<\/h4><ul><li>Vertical (portrait) theme support.<\/li><li>Database support extended to all systems: this is not a mandatory step\u2026but will allow users to customize the way the rom name is displayed, the \u2018genre\u2019 of the game, the number of allowed players (based on nPlayers nomenclature), the \u2018clone of\u2019 option.<br \/>To get a complete database in Mame, users will have to put \u2018nplayers\u2019 and \u2018catver\u2019 files in the Mame folder prior to generate the database.<br \/>Finally, keep in mind that a database is based (excepted for Mame, where you get the option to generate the database from the \u201cintegrated\u201d Mame database) on the rom folder AND the file type you\u2019ve chosen!!<\/li><li>Multiple extensions support: no more need to specify one extension type for your rom files, all (valid) rom types are allowed.<\/li><li>Clock display added.<\/li><li>\u201cFiltering on Players\u201d notification icon added: shows you if you are browsing with a filter set on \u201cPlayers\u201d.<\/li><li>Xbox 360 controller support.<\/li><li>New \u2018Info window\u2019 function: will check if a &#8220;note.rtf&#8221; file exists in the emulated system folder.<br \/>If yes, it will be displayed in a window. Navigate it using the joystick (line up &amp; down, page up &amp; down). (\u2018.rtf\u2019 files allow quick and easy creation of documents containing both images and text!)<\/li><li>New \u2018Pick a random game\u2019 function.<\/li><li>mGalaxy is now \u201cportable\u201d: all needed file are in the same folder than the main application.
