Help after a hard drive crash

My one hard drive crashed out on me.
Fortunately I had everything backed up on a spare.
So I plugged my spare drive in and went to run mGalaxy
Everything works fine except my MAME roms. (wouldn't you know it, MAME is my go to
Some of the ROMS work, but I can not get it to recognize my arcade roms.
I have run Runway, so many times I am blue in the face
These are the same ROMS (more or less ) that I had before as I am using a duplicate of the first drive.
However after running Runway (which is finding all the ROMS as I see their names coming up)
I get a "Problem parsing history.xml file notice. And none of my games are listed in mGalaxy.
Any thoughts ?

Hello.
Some of the ROMS work, but I can not get it to recognize my arcade roms.
Can you be more explicit ?

You are using mGalaxy to rebuild the database ?

How the history.xml can be corrupted (it's a clean backup so no currupted files ?) ? Are you sure you are not using a different version ?

From what you describe, it is possible that your version of Mame is so old that it doesn't match the catver.ini, history.xml AND history.dat (if you can find it), nplayers.ini...files that are used (and automatically downloaded) by mGalaxy to build the database.
First, I suggest you to delete these 3 files from the MAME application folder (where mGalaxy places them)
Then try to rebuild the database!...and tell me what happens!

As usual you nailed the issue.
Working fine again. ( I missed playing Time Pilot)
I hate when I have a hard drive issue. It seems I spend the next week getting everything the way it was.
Of course that is not your issue. Just venting.
I still stand behind mGalaxy 100%
