I am using the MAME .78 due to the machine that I am building is very resource limited.
I placed the .78 catver.ini and the .86 nplayers.ini (it doesn't go that far back I guess) into the MAME root folder. I update everything and the command prompt comes up and then goes away after about 3 seconds. It says that it saved the database but when going to the "DB Edit" page, there is nothing listed.
I know it is a lot to ask (cusp10@msn.com), but is there anything I can do to get an older version of MAME synced inside of mGalaxy?
Thanks,
Old Version of MAME - Embedded database workflow
quazl,
It sounded very weird to me but I wanted to do the test!
Here's the result: everything is working as it should! The database is created nicely!
If you go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\mGalaxy\Data\UserSystems\", then in the Mame folder created, you should see the database file!
Open it and you'll see all games listed.
Are you pointing mGalaxy_Runway to the proper v.78 rom folder?
It sounds to me that you don't see the games listed in mGalaxy_Runway because there are not present in the rom folder you've specified!

I checked all my settings to make sure that I didn't miss anything. The behavior remains unchanged.
The only difference I see from your last post is that mGalaxy is installed C:\emu\frontends\mGalaxy
I attached a picture of my roms folder, my UserSystems.xml, and the xmlout.xml for the MAME system.

Sorry, I made a mistake by testing everything with the beta version of mGalaxy I'm working on! (there's not such a problem with this version)
Here's what you'll have to do with the actual version:
Simply remove the first 2 lines in 'catver.ini'
The text should begin like this:
