Re: No DOS Box for MAME

Would if affect messages about missing files/missing ROMS?
That might lead to some end users not knowing they're missing ROMS/BIOS Files...

Thank you.

The virtual keyboard is very nice and makes the program much easier to use. I really appreciate it being added.

Thank you.

If people are running it from a cab, they'd probably like to have the info with the release, is it that big of a deal to make a text file with the keyboard controls to include with the binary?

How about a readme.txt file with

A list of the keystokes used/supported by the front end...
Navagation through the front end?

Even if I want to try joy2key to setup my controller to run the frontend, I have no clue what keys are currently used...A file with the information, e.g., a readme.txt would be nice.

Does having the option to call a big visual keypad on screen, moving in it with the joystick and selecting letters with one of the pushbuttons would be an acceptable idea or not?
Sounds fine...

Thank you.

Re: How about an option to choose the joystick you want to use?

Yes that's true...mGalaxy (in this very first version) is clearly dedicated to arcade cabinet owners (so, people using keyboard encoder) OR people using their keyboard, provided they use the specific keyboard mapping.

Now, wanting to use it with external Joystick is one thing...and wanting to ...

In that topic, you mentioned considering a request to modify the keys, I'm simply requesting modifying to buttons, on one hand you don't want to be tied down to keyboard, but yet you seem to tie joystick users ...

Re: How about an option to do a trucated search?

I must confess that the main idea behind mGalaxy was to do without keyboard and mouse ;)
Anyway...your wish will be taken in consideration in the next poll of course

Well the problem you get into is unless you're heavily dependant on 'favorites', you're going to be having "fun" going from game ...

How about an option to do a trucated search?

I's love to see a command that'd bring up a text box and allow the user to type a few characters and look up the first game that matched it in the list, it'd save scrolling to a specific point, for example sup or super to get to the first game that has sup or super in the list of games...

How about an option to choose the joystick you want to use?

Heck, none of my 5 joysticks plugged in will work, I have a gamepad pro USB, Two Dual Shock controllers, a Dead or Alive 4 joystick, a Nyko Airflo joystick, I'd like to be able to pick one of them to use to manipulate the menu...
